Bear & Bones Comics | 2013-2016

An exploration of queer identity and politics by Bones and his best friend… who just so happens to be a Bear.

This is a story about Bear & Bones- best friends just trying to make it in this big, messy, and mixed-up world. The comic series made its first published debut in the Portland Phoenix, Out in Maine in 2013 in honor of Pride. B&B would have an exciting and short-lived life at the Portland Phoenix before they closed up shop for good. In 2016, Bear & Bones were resurrected for re-prints as well as original content in Rhode Island’s Options Magazine.

The concept for Bear & Bones was inspired by all the late-night chats and heated debates with a dear friend of mine who identifies as a bear. Together we would wax philosophically all the pressing current events, challenges and oftentimes drama found within our queer community.
